BATSE Occultation
FITS-format files with lightcurves (20-100 keV) and spectra for sources in all these classes are available for download.
These sources were examined using the Earth Occultation Technique. Lightcurves are provided for the definite detections. A preprint of the journal paper appears here.

BATSE Detection Class:

A (Definite Detections)

Persistent - average flux exceeding 0.01 photons cm-2 s-1 in 20-100 keV band
Transient - at least one outburst of clearly finite duration with one or more average daily fluxes exceeding 0.01 photons cm-2 s-1 in 20-100 keV band

B (Definite Detections)

Average flux exceeding 10 sigma, but not exceeding 0.01 photons cm-2 s-1 in 20-100 keV band

C (Possible Detections)

Average flux exceeding 3 sigma, but not exceeding 10 sigma

N (Non-detections)

Average flux between ± 3 sigma

I (Indeterminate)

Average flux lower than 3 sigma, with some confusion due to nearby sources or a poorly characterized systematic error in the surrounding sky region
