   HV On During SAA Affecting Gains TJDs 11001 - 1103

TJDs 11001-11003 = July 7-9, 1998

Because of an error by TPOCC ("possible TPOCC software anomaly"), 
i.e., FOT or CMS at GSFC, the BATSE high voltages were not turned 
off during at least two SAA passages early on TJD 11001.  As a 
result, the gains were messed up for TJD 11001, SoD 11000 - 50000.
The AGC was able to restore the high voltages for Large-Area 
detectors 1,2,3,4,5,7 but not for detectors 0 and 6, although
detector 2 did not appear to return to its previous value.  The AGC
continued taking the high voltages for dets. 0 and 6 to higher and
higher values until the AGCOUT errors began occurring.

During the early to middle part of TJD 11002 (SoD 17800 - 30400), 
detector 6 recovered by itself and the AGCOUT messages for detector 6
stopped.

The high voltages for LA detectors 0,2,6 were reset at
     TJD/SoD = 11003/46571
to 2 steps above their values at the end of TJD 11000.  These
voltages were then brought back by the AGC to their proper balanced 
values by   TJD/SoD 11006/50500.

Quality flags were set as follows:

TJD 11001
  Flag 64 (gains for LA detectors out of balance)
     SoD 11000 - 50000    (gains for all LA detectors were out of balance)
  Flags 80,86 (slow background variability - different from usual meaning)
     SoD 50000 - 86399.99  (gains for LA detectors 0,6 were out of balance)

TJD 11002
  Flag 64 (gains for LA detectors out of balance)
     SoD 17800 - 30400    (detector 6 was returning to balance)
  Flag 80 (slow background variability - different from usual meaning)
     SoD 0 - 86399.99  (gain for LA detector 0 was out of balance all day)
  Flag 86 (slow background variability - different from usual meaning)
     SoD 0 - 17800   (gain for LA detector 6 was out of balance until it
                      began recovering by itself)

TJD 11003
  Flag 64 (gains for LA detectors out of balance)
     SoD 46570 - 50500    (detectors 0,2,6 were returning to balance
                           after voltage reset)
  Flag 80 (slow background variability - different from usual meaning)
     SoD 0 - 46575   (gain for LA detector 0 was out of balance until
                      voltage reset)
  Flag 70 (fast background variability)
     SoD 46570 - 46575   (voltage reset caused discontinuity in
                          data from LA detector 0)
